Last week in New York, Marc Jacob’s treated onlookers to a 19th century inspired catwalk collection. Clothing featured wide shoulders and heavy embroidery. Jackets resembled those of sailor’s and whilst floral and leafy prints were present the collection had a much darker tone to it than other designers. The darker palette included blacks, greens, reds and purples.
The co-ordinate two piece trend looks set to follow right through until next season. Jacob’s printed black, white and green patterned shorts with matching tops just oozed a cool and relaxed vibe and are my favourites from his collection.
More of my favourite looks from the collection included sheer dresses, sequin embellishment and high necks. The clothing has an air of glamour about it and whilst it is a SS14 collection, items could very well go through to AW14, particularly those with an element of sparkle.
