Italy is without doubt the most beautiful place I have ever visited.
We were lucky enough to spend a week in Riva Del Garda in August and I can honestly say it was the best holiday ever.
We stayed in Hotel Kristal Palace which is not only surrounded by beautiful views, it is also beautiful inside! Clean and modern, it is also very homely and an easy place to settle in. The staff were exceptional and I could not get enough of the delicious fresh food and free prosecco every evening. If you visit Italy, you also need to try a Hugo – best cocktail ever!
Lake Garda itself is breathtaking. Riva is located on the north part of the lake and is a beautiful little town boasting beautiful views, food and gelato! Whilst there we took advantage of the water sports and went canoeing and paddle boarding, as well as the free hotel bikes which allowed us to cycle to the next town.
We were also able to catch a train to Venice, which was another highlight of the holiday. I always knew Venice was built on water, but I never realised there would be no cars. There’s really something special about it and quite unusual. The streets are beautiful with their traditional architecture, each of which surround their own square.
We visited Piazza St. Marco, which was again one of the most outstanding places I had ever been, tried local wine and enjoyed a trip to the Leonardo Da Vinci museum (which I keep calling the Leonardo Di Caprio museum by accident).
Here are just a few pics from the trip. I tried to dress chic at all times, although next to some of the Italian women I am not sure I achieved it!
For our next adventure we will be heading to Croatia, however we will definitely visit Italy again, as there’s still so much to see!
